Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Leo XIV

In early October 2025, Pope Leo XIV released his first Apostolic Exhortation titled Dilexi Te — meaning “I Have Loved You.” Addressed to the entire Catholic community, this inspiring document calls every believer to a deeper awareness of God’s love made visible through concrete compassion for the poor and the forgotten.

Building upon the pastoral vision of Pope Francis, Dilexi Te continues the Church’s reflection on faith in action. Pope Leo XIV reminds us that authentic discipleship cannot be separated from the care of those who suffer. Love, he writes, must become visible in social justice, service, and genuine fraternity — not as an optional virtue, but as the very expression of Christian faith.

For the Society of the Divine Word and all missionary communities, this exhortation resonates deeply with our charism. It invites us to renew our presence among the poor, to be witnesses of God’s tenderness, and to proclaim the Gospel through both word and deed.

Dilexi Te is ultimately a message of hope — a reminder that in every act of love, God’s own heart is revealed.
