image1I come from Jirapa in the upper west region of Ghana but I was born and bred at Wenchi in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana. I am the third born of my parent’s with three siblings. I started my basic and senior high school education in Wenchi.

I was a member of the Knights of the Altar and the Catholic Charismatic Renewal at Wenchi at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where I was baptized and confirmed. Wenchi Parish is under the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana.

My vocation story

My passion for the work of God began when I was in the Senior High School. I joined the parish priesthood aspirants group. The priests and religious from the parish usually met the aspirants every year to talk about vocation to the priesthood and religious life. They explained to us the various societies and their charisms and gave us the contact numbers of the various vocation directors, both religious and diocesan.

Through interaction with them I decided to join a missionary congregation which focused more on parish work and evangelization. The SVD was my first choice so I contacted the vocation director in Accra. The following year I wrote an application letter to the vocation director to join the Society of the Divine Word. I went for an interview and my application was accepted in 2013.

I began my philosophy studies at Saint Victor Major Seminary, Tamale in the Northern region of Ghana for three years.

I proceeded to the Novitiate at Nkwatia Kwahu in the Eastern region of Ghana for one year and professed my First Vows on the 8th of July 2017. I was appointed to Ireland for my theology studies by Rev. Fr. George Clement Angmor SVD, the provincial superior of Ghana province. On the 30th of August 2017, I arrived in Ireland at about 5:30 am at the Airport. Father Parys SVD welcomed us at the Airport and we went to Maynooth. My experience in Ireland so far has been good. I am doing my theology studies at the pontifical university Saint Patrick College Maynooth.
